Features  

The Editor Macro is an extension to Multi-Edit to support the editing of Legacy style fixed format source files. Each fixed format COBOL source line is divided into the following areas:

• Columns 1-6 Sequence Number


• Columns 7 Indicator Area


• Columns 8-12 Area A


• Columns 12-72 Area B


• Columns 73-80 History

The history area is commonly used during program maintenance to indicate when a line was changed and by whom. The Editor Macro ensures that the history area is updated or preserved during editing. Most editing tasks are supported such as :

• Typing (with insert on/off)


• Deleting/backspacing


• Tabbing


• Clipboard operations (copy/move/delete)


• Block Operations (copy/move/delete)


• Window operations (copy/move)


• Line/Stream/column blocks
